Letter to Samsung
Letter to Samsung: the Seal & the Selfie

Samsung Head Office, Korea
Samsung donated 1.5 million dollars to PETA, which was used for their anti-sealing campaign. This campaign is hurting Inuit, the native people of the Canadian Arctic. Inuit are already disadvantaged enough and have suffered since the seal ban in 1987. Today, they have the highest rate of food insecurity, and a TB crisis, the disease of poverty.

Additionally, there is a suicide crisis in Nunavut, where children as young as 12 are taking their lives.

Inuit harvest only what they can eat. They are not that different from Koreans in the way that they eat sea mammals.

This leaves such a bad taste in my mouth that I would never buy another Samsung product again, even though they are better than Sony.

Hi Alethea; Recently Samsung announced support for the save the seal movement in Canada, because: PETA. I intend to write a letter to Samsung Canada and Samsung head office in Korea to explain that I am an avid consumer of Samsung products and I think they're better than Sony but this well-intended move to help the environment is actually detrimental in more ways than they know.
I was thinking perhaps if you and some other affected people were to sign the letter as well, it would carry more weight, what do you think?
Remember me, buy my shirts!
