A welcome update to Searle’s famous article, “Minds, Brains, and Programs,” wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_room, and an articulate defense of Searle’s way of thinking. I don’t agree with much of it, but/and it’ll make a great addition to an AI+ethics syllabus.
