Being born in Ottawa of Guyanese Indian, East Indian, and European ancestry helps me to have wider global view of the world and my art reflects this synthesis as I explore the imagery common to cultural origins and mystic works.
I began painting at 5 and just never stopped. I received professional training from the Ontario College of Art and Design University with a special emphasis on digital; now I work primarily with paint, canvas, paper and fabric.
My mission has been exploring my own identity through animal characters, which I call Dream Cats, and have been painting for several years now. To me, the swirling of shapes and cats represents what really goes in in our heads at night. We just call them dreams. I want to see these whimsical kittens on the side of a building as a giant colourful mural one day.
