Last week I had to pop to the store. When my ride showed up, it was a big white Tesla. I had been sitting on my porch waiting for it to come, and was reveling in the early morning birdsong while staring at flowers awakening to a golden rising sun. There were no cars driving on the street and only a scant few parked by the roadside. I got into the car and drove slowly to the end of our street. By the time I got there, I had come to a realization that the birds and small animals that scatter when a car goes by will not do so when only one electric car goes down the street. That to me is a sure sign we're living in the 21st century.
