The clearance kabochas were all gone and they got a new shipment of fresh young, green kabochas from Mexico. Had to dig to the bottom of the bin and got two kabochas turning a pretty orange colour indicating it was nicely cured. They were 3 lbs each and $1/lb.

Baked kabocha today. A lot of juice came out and burnt and it smells like gingerbread cookies now. Probably similar to the molasses smell. Can't wait to eat this squash.

Got a 1-liter container almost full of kabocha now. Kitty loves to eat it. While I'm scooping the flesh out he'll get spoonfuls in his bowl. He's just eaten about 5 spoonfuls tonight.

Have a 1 liter container of turkey meat going in the freezer today. We are done eating turkey for now though the jelly was so fantastic. Got half a liter of it, it's clear, but rose coloured and makes a good gravy as is.

Making sushi at-home: shrimp is skewered and cooked, rolled sushi with seaweed, sushi rice and avocado.
