55 days. This variety dates back to the 1820's or before. The beets are a rich, golden-yellow and very sweet. A beautiful beet that won’t bleed like red beets. The greens are also very tasty. A favorite of many.
What are the pros? Possibly nice looking
What are the cons? Plants wouldnt germinate
Review:
Had bad luck both indoors and out.
What are the pros? 100% germination
What are the cons? none

I seeded in mid-July for harvest in September before hard frost. They were small, though, so next year I'll plant them earlier. Roasted vegetables tip: I roast chunks of vegetables coated with olive oil in the oven. Potatoes and turnips cook at about the same rate, but these golden beets were soft long before the others and lost shape by the time the others were ready. Next time I'll put them in separate pans. They were indeed delicious, and not bleeding colour on other vegetables is a big plus.
What are the pros? Not like other beets
What are the cons? Aphids loved it here
Review:
Not a bet lover but I gave these a try. Very good, and very easy to grow. When in early September there was an invasion of aphids, these plants were seen as the main course. Once treated with bt there wasn't an aphid in sight. Get these in the best soil you can. Don't skimp. The greens were good steamed, a bit bitter for me raw. Maybe it was the aphids. Great germination and growth. If you're not a big bet eater give these a try, you just might change your mind.
What are the pros? Tasty, Easy to Grow
What are the cons? None
Review:
One of my favorites, a happy departure from the normal red beet. Sweet, looks good and grows easily.
What are the pros? Beautiful color
What are the cons? Watery radish taste
Review:
I am growing these and bull's blood. I'm n my opinion these taste far inferior. They are missing g the sweet earthy taste that I love. No problems grow them in Central Texas.
