-When planting any type of tomato or pepper plant, pinch off all but the top leaves.Dig a deep hole. Always add a cup of water to the prepared hole and then set the plant into the hole and put a tablespoon of powdered, unflavored gelatin in the hole as near to the roots of the plant as possible. A teaspoon of cinnamon also goes in. The gelatin will feed and encourage helpful bacteria and the cinnamon will keep away fungus and cutworms.

-Use a barrel and add sheep, cow, or rabbit manure to it, then top it off with water. Stir it every day for a week and then strain off the water and give it to your vegetable plants. The plants will get a boost and they will be a lot more healthy.

Phacelia - A good companion plant to all the cucurbits. ie cucumbers, melons, squashes.
Anise- avoid basil, carrots or rue near anise if growing for healthy anise.
Anise will disguise the scent of brassica plants (broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, etc.) and keep away the aphids. It does well near coriander (cilantro), but not dill.
Dill- cabbages, onions, lettuce and cucumber. Avoid tomatoes, cabbage, carrots, chili and bell peppers, as they are all poor companions for dill.

Easy Self-Seeders
Herbs: basil, chamomile, cilantro, cutting celery, dill, parsley

Vegetables: amaranth, arugula, beets, broccoli raab, carrots, collards, kale, lettuce, orach, mustards, New Zealand spinach, parsnips, pumpkin, radish, rutabaga, tomatillo, tomato, turnips, winter squash

In the fall, toss seed heads wherever you want seeds to germinate.
Or, next spring, transplant volunteers to the spots where you want them to grow.
Be sure not to hoe “weeds” too early in the spring.

List of Cut and Come Again veg:
Perfect for New and Small Space Gardeners:
For delicious young leafy greens, the easy and intensive “cut and come again” growing method yields the most greens in the smallest space in the shortest amount of time.
Following each variety’s specific packet back directions, sow seed in a well-prepared gardening bed or individual large containers. When plants are 4 or 5 inches tall, use scissors to shear off what’s needed for a meal, cutting leaves 1 to 2 inches above the soil level. Water well and fertilize lightly and plants will regrow for another 1 or 2 cuttings.
Here is a sampler of carefully chosen varieties for growing in this fashion, especially when gardening in containers or small space gardens.
