Cosmic Purple Organic carrot seeds are CERTIFIED ORGANIC! They produce distinctive, smooth, purple skinned carrots with coreless orange flesh in 18cm (7") roots. Cosmic Purple has a particularly sweet flavour and a colour that stays purple after cooking, making for a novel side dish. Tops grow to 38cm (16") tall with strong stems that are good for bunching on market tables. Sow carrots every two to three weeks from April to mid-July for harvests from July to November. Customer Reviews: I can't say enough good things about 'Cosmic Purple'... Mar 16, 2018 I can't say enough good things about 'Cosmic Purple' carrots. I wasn't a particular fan of carrots until I tasted this one -- it has a combination of sweetness with a very definite spicy note that is unforgettable. These are magnificent fresh, and perhaps even better roasted. And they last extremely well in the refrigerator, literally months. We haven't tried cool storage (basement/sand storage) yet because we only planted a short row last year, but I suspect if they keep 9 or 10 months in the fridge, they'll store well in a root cellar or basement. This year we'll be making lots of successive plantings to ensure we still have a good supply to store over winter, because they all get snapped up for fresh eating during the summer! P.S. Be sure to try grating this carrot over a salad -- it gives a spicy-sweet punch and stunning colour to an otherwise bland serving of greens. westcoastseeds
