Grew this carrot in a container with a couple different varieties. Great germination rate. These plants never bolted. Gave good 10 inch nicely tapered carrots when planted in a fabric pot in full sun! Dark purple in color throughout the whole carrot but does not stain my fingers like beets. Tastes great!

I've grown a lot of purple carrots before, but these were the most intensely colored. They taste amazing. I had an extremely high germination rate and they all grew wonderfully.

I grew two types of carrots (purple 68 and cosmic purple), both in identical, raised bed, manure. The cosmic purple were beautiful and flawless, the purple 68 however split, some times up to 6 times. A vast majority were very deformed. and some very fat and short, others small and skinny. They're still delicious, but seem to have had a hard time growing. I have more seeds left so I'll try them again to see if I have different results. We've been using them in hot sauce.

Most of these carrots bolted during mid summer, so were inedible. The ones that did not bolt were beautiful and delicious, a real showstopper. These carrots would probably grow better in climates with a cooler summer. They did not overwinter as well as other varieties. territorialseed

PURPLE 68 F1 UNTREATED CARROT
Purple 68 is an Indigo Winter lookalike, from the same breeders, with dark purple, Imperator cello-shaped roots, firm texture, and a mild, sweet flavor. It shows excellent top vigor, with intermediate resistance to Alternaria. Plant late in the season to avoid bolting in long daylight conditions. A specialty carrot, used for fresh eating, adding color to a rainbow bunch of carrots, and for juicing.
