Planted Peppers:
Chinese 5-color
orange purple bell
Anaheim
yellow cayenne
sweet habanero - red
red jalapeņo
yellow jalapeno
purple bell
chocolate shepherd
poblano
need to plant: serrano, habanero
The peppers are at 23 C on top of the stove.
We figured out our mystery multicolor toms of last year, one is black icicle, with the pointy end.
The other is Black Plum, which we also bought seeds of from Urban Harvest, though ours are bigger than theirs.
We've decided to cut down on our number of plants, and might not grow the turmeric plant, the elephant ear, and the bird of paradise, which isn't getting enough sun. Might put elephant ear /taro bulbs in the ground just for show, and not bother digging them up as their are very cheap.

Also not planting squash this year.
We've hit 30 degrees C with the stove on at 250. It is handy having a thermometer this year. The recommended temps are 80-90F or 26-32C.
Checked the seeds last night and might have been seeing white little roots starting to come out.
Might still need to sprout habanero, though our indoor plant is growing new leaves, so is the jalapeno.
We have 25 tomato varieties, and one missing seed from (aug 1).
Checked peppers at 11pm, which have been at 30C all day, and 27 yellow jalapenos spouted, 7 red jalapenos sprouted.

Sprouted:
3 bolivian rainbow
12 chocolate shepherd
3 yellow cayenne (mold)
|
Sweet habanero (habanada) sprouted. nearly all the jalapeno sprouted, and all the yellow jalapeno.
Planted: Choc shepherd x3, habanada x3, Bolivian rainbow x3, jalapeno x4,yellow jalapeno x5 at 1 am today.
Put the light back over the desk. Lots more spouts to plant. Got to start new yellow cayenne as the got mold. may also need fresh Anaheim and habanero, Serrano. Started new poblano too. Oven is at 200, temp at 30C.
We will have 17 large pots to use for peppers, and also some smaller ones like the blue ones.
Last year we used 15 pots for tomatoes and 1 squash. (some pots are not counted because they're not in the picture). At least 3 not pictured pots had poblanos in them (total: 20 pots). Didn't count the lunchbox pots, we'll likely put lunchbox in there again (2 or 3 pots).
There are also 2 holes in the ground where we plant the squash. This may be a good spot for kiwiberry, or might want to plant it further back toward the house.
Plan(large pots): Poblano - 6 pots
chocolate shepherd - 2 pots
Anaheim - 3 pots
Jalapeno - 3 pots
Yellow Jalapeno - 3 pots
Serrano - 2 pots (total: 19 pots)
Smaller pots:
Habanada
Yellow Cayenne
Habanero
Bolivian Rainbow
Lunchbox
More Serranos
More Jalapenos
Won't be growing purple peppers after all, we just found out that purple is an immature stage colour, and must buy seeds to grow them.
May also need pots for Husk Cherry and Tomatillos.
Secretly want to grow: green sausage and tom thumb in containers, as they are determinate, and yellow pear and indigo rose in the ground.
