How to Grow Sweet Cherries
Crimson Passion Hardy Cherry
Mid season variety. Dark red 7 gram fruit are the largest in the series, and the sweetest of all three. Fresh eating type. More compact plant than the others. Beautiful, bright red cherries, ideal for home made cherry pie. These exciting new bush cherries, developed by the University of Saskatchewan after 50 years of breeding work, are perfect for the home gardener. They are very hardy (zone 3), disease resistant and their bush shape is very suitable for the garden. They are heavy yielding, producing up to 10-15 kg per plant. With proper care they should begin to bear fruit in 3 years, with full maturity (7-8 feet) in 5-6 years. These are tart cherries, ideal for cooking, but are also sweet enough for fresh eating. Self-pollinating, but better results are obtained when two varieties are planted. We ship 1 year old plants.

The Crimson Passion Cherry is a hardy deciduous hybrid dwarf Sour Cherry. This medium-sized self-pollinator produces tart, bright red fruits in large clusters in late summer that are perfect for jams, pies and jellies. Crimson Passion Cherry is ideal as a landscape or orchard tree.
Crimson Passion Sour Cherry is a tart and productive cultivar perfect for fresh eating, pies, jams and canning. The larger pits on this variety means it is compatible with crank pitters for those wanting to process these cherries. Expect slightly smaller yields with this tree but it is one of the tallest Sour Cherries. Excellent variety for fresh eating.
treetime
Crimson Passion ripens slightly earlier with larger fruit, is shorter by a foot (at 5.5 feet) and the least likely to sucker. Unfortunately, they are both a little less hardy when they are still “young.” Crimson Passion has been known to produce fewer cherries, but the fruit has the best texture.
Fruit production will start within the second year.

Container grown cherry trees need a pot that is deeper and wider than the root ball of the tree so the cherry has some room to grow. A 15-gallon (57 L) pot is large enough for a 5-foot (1.5 m.) tree, for example.

Cherry Tree In Container, Growing Cherries 2017
I bought it as a tiny tree at the store and I care them well, after 3years I got the first fruit.
hi, my dwarf cherry trees in containers always get white powdery mildew. Do you know why and have you ever had that problem? Do do know to prevent that from happening again?
Yeah I’ve encountered that problems. I use chemical treatments but sad to say ‘ no results ‘
Base on my experience, I just cutting the infected leaves or area as soon as possible, then I wash 🧼. the entire tree with water 🚿 and I see the great results.
