last night we ate a kigugu/butterkin type squash. it was great. got lots of seeds and will grow it next year for sure. fine flesh, few large strings, but easily could be amde into pie. we ate it with salmon and potatoes and it was great.
today we pulled all the calla bulbs. we got: pink, orange, purple/magenta, yellow. and a pot of our callas. one pot is unidentified as the label got too dirty.
we have 1 calendula neon, 3 inches tall, and its gorgeous. the zinnias are gorgeous everywhere. the pink one in our pepper bed, the red ones int he flowerbed nest to the blooming sunflower.
the zinnias int he side planter are yellow. the other zinnias are fading inthe planter. the marigodl has no blooms left.
pulled out all the pepepr plants. yesterday i pulled and potted our wiri wiri into a 4inch, there are 8 unripe peppers on a 2 ft tall plant.
today pulled out brazil starfish, with fruit, habanero-brown, with fruit, decorative peuple x3 with fruit, srp with fruit, and a red mini bell/habanero type whcih i dont know if i planted, and its got lots of pepers and 1 ripe one. got another large plant but not much fruit, looks like 1 wrinkled toe. could be the leviathan.
going down to -1 again for 2nd time tonight. all week is about -1 at night and 3 in the day. very cold. got 1 small summer squasdh fromt he nerighbor yard. its perfect round and nice green. the squirels ate the other one.
today picked up oatgrass from neighbor yard, and also malva whihc is flowering and is so beautiful.
need to get peat moss to pack callas into.
