We saw a hummingbird in our garden about a week ago! and gold finches on 2 separate occasions, one with a mate. just saw a monarch today. thinking of getting a hummingbird feeder. it was a grey one. fairly big.
Last night picked a hidden squash we jsut discovered by the corn plant. a very small Kikuza. today we cooked it and the other one, the 1st squash to set onthe plant. both squash were fairly tan coloured. lots of seeds, easy to separte from the stringy flesh. the cooked pumpkin is very tasty, not quite as thick as kabocha, but dense and fine graiend and tastes light lieka delicata almost, mixed with butternut. there is one big pumpkin ready to harvest, and 2 still gorwing, bigger than a baseball now.
raspberries are coming in fast now, big and juicy and so many flowers still fruiting.
