Our bird feeder almost sits full for most days in recent weeks. In the United States alone, outdoor cats kill approximately 2.4 billion birds every year. So between cats and the density growth in the area is more likely for the decline than the hawks which have always been here. The birds were going nuts trying to get it to leave - I read that their appearance this south usually means they�ve had a good breeding season and are in search of food. We had tons of sparrows and then they seemed to disappear but recently they are back enjoying the bird seed and water we put out for them. I was worried too. We usually get a huge assortment of birds at our feeders, but when the robins come back to our tree to nest they temporarily chase everyone else off. They just disappeared a couple weeks ago. I was worried I had offended them by adjusting the placement of our feeder 😂 but I think it�s more likely to be a predator.
