It is super gross but I was grateful to the hawk lol - nature’s pest control expert 😅 Like · Reply · Share · 4 d Active Write a public reply… Jeannine Marinier Predation by domestic cats is the number-one direct, human-caused threat to birds in the United States and Canada. In the United States alone, outdoor cats kill approximately 2.4 billion birds every year. So between cats and the density growth in the area is more likely for the decline than the hawks which have always been here. Personally, I have seen cardinals, bluejays, robins and even woodpeckers lately!!! 3 Haha · Reply · Share · 5 d Sahar Sh I also saw this Snowy Owl near the stockyards today. The birds were going nuts trying to get it to leave - I read that their appearance this south usually means they’ve had a good breeding season and are in search of food. Like · Reply · Share · 4 d Michelle Powell We put plastic around our back porch so we could sit out all winter and watch the birds without freezing to death. We had tons of sparrows and then they seemed to disappear but recently they are back enjoying the bird seed and water we put out for them. I was worried too. Like · Reply · Share · 4 d Ashley Tara I’ve seen tons of cardinals lately Like · Reply · Share · 4 d Kaitlyn Wallace Allen Have you seen any robins around? We usually get a huge assortment of birds at our feeders, but when the robins come back to our tree to nest they temporarily chase everyone else off. We see them patrolling the perimeter of the yard! 1 Like · Reply · Share · 5 d 1 reply Drew Cohen A hawk flew 10 feet over my head in my backyard with prey in tow. Saying that my dog and I were startled is an understatement! Like · Reply · Share · 5 d Sabrina Agostino There are two gorgeous hawks in the area, but the birds are hanging out in our back yard, we’re singing sweet songs all day yesterday except when the hawks were around 1 Like · Reply · Share · 5 d Natasha Leah Yes! They just disappeared a couple weeks ago. I was worried I had offended them by adjusting the placement of our feeder 😂 but I think it’s more likely to be a predator. We saw two very large (beautiful!) birds in a nearby tree. 1 Like · Reply · Share · 5 d Melissa Kang We have had a huge surge of birds in our backyard this year. All through the winter and now. But i didn’t live here last year. I’ve seen sparrows, robins, the annoying blackcoloured bird, cardinals, and I hear something in the morning that’s new for spring.
