What does Diversity mean to you? (Approximately 100 words) diversity is excitement. whatever culture your from its natural i think to assume "we are the boring one" because all other cultures seem more interesting than our own. and yet this is really just relative. as two people who are happy to explore each others cultures, each thinking others are the most exciting of all. with the melting pot of Toronto, the cultural diversity is greater here than anywhere in Canada. this i think sets the stage and all the pieces are there for something very similar to the birth of the renaissance era in Florence in the 1590s. it was diversity ion Florence 500 years ago that created a millennia long art movement and i see signs of this being recapitulated in the cultural landscape of Toronto in the 20th century.
What is your connection to Oakwood Village? (Approximately 100 words) I live around the corner from Oakwood village, and find myself there almost every day. I like to support the small grocery stores, and try a little bit of everything from each restaurant. it's always a good day when I get to visit my friends and shop in Oakwood. I'm grateful to live here and I get to try new things like gelato and local-made chocolate, served by my favourite shops. I think this community is growing in success by supporting each other, and I would like to contribute to the community with an artwork to bring smiles to the local people.
