Finished a squash brownie a few days ago. It was made with a ripe delicata, an old, tasteless sweet dumplin squash, 1 commercial banana and 2 over-ripe turbano/manzano bananas. Used butter and about 1 tablespoon of coconut oil. Mixed in cocoa powder, this time using more red chocolate.

The result was an incredibly smooth, red chocolate cake flavour and consistency. Honestly it was just like eating the red chocolate cake made from the box. The box cake may have been called devil chocolate. It was really an amazing squash brownie and the red chocolate flavour really came through and pairs with the delicata so well.

This may confirm that 3 different kinds of cake brownies can be made with squash: milk chocolate, red chocolate and dark chocolate. Each flavour tastes amazing with the right kind of squash and the flavour of the chocolate and squash become one smooth, rich flavour.

Today we baked 1 old sweet dumpling which was pretty tasteless. We baked a Carnival squash, which was perfectly ripe as indicated by the creamy-white colour and green stripes.

The carnival was cooked for a long time without water in the pan and made a lot of burnt sugars. The pan was coated in the black sugar and the squash touching the pan was black too. The blackened part of the squash was very sweet and tasted like vanilla. The yellow flesh was delicious, very similar to delicata or sweet dumpling, and was hard not to eat straight out of the pan, even though we were stuffed from chicken cacciatore dinner.

The cat went mad for the chicken cacciatore. It turned out he wanted the sauce more than the chicken, as it had beef stock in it. He licked our plates clean for us.
