The Dr. Paul Marik Protocol
The Dr. Paul Marik Protocol

Marik 2017: Our results suggest that the early use of intravenous vitamin C, together with corticosteroids and thiamine, are effective in preventing progressive organ dysfunction, including acute kidney injury, and in reducing the mortality of patients with severe sepsis and septic shock.

Test over, results are in:

7500% improvement in survival rates of sepsis.

"More than a million Americans fall ill from severe sepsis annually, and between 28 and 50 percent of them die"

"sepsis patients often have undetectable levels of the nutrient"

"Four of the 47 patients Marik documented in his paper died in the hospital. But their deaths, Marik reported, were from underlying diseases, not from sepsis. By comparison, 19 of the 47 patients hed treated before trying vitamin C and steroids had died. So far, hes treated more than 150 patients with the protocol and he says only one has died from sepsis.

They argue like the comments section of Youtube. Remember these are doctors screaming at each other here. Marik, who ran the test is the director of medicine at Norfolk hospital and makes his case. He's a thoracic surgeon like Hawkeye Pierce was, and Peter Levy, whose comments on the subject are also worth some attention:
60 Minutes covered the above story too:

Comment: The double blind test is not a gold standard. John Hopkins is playing a game with people's lives:
"Dorian's blood pressure dropped, and his heartbeat became irregular. "He went from doing OK to just doing really bad, in very little time," Shauna says. And she was doubly concerned, "especially with trying to keep him well enough to get to a liver transplant."
"He would have a 50-50 chance of getting the vitamin mixture or standard fluids for hydration through an IV"
"Mortality from sepsis is higher than any other condition in the hospital,"
"The Pelfreys have no idea whether he got the experimental treatment or the placebo. "
There is no reason to expect different results outside of Marik's hospital with the same protocol.
