well we got the dairy jackpot. went to HP and sweet potato the other day, got 6 litres of milk. maybe 7. 2 whipping creams, half a 10%. today went to jags got 3 liter of 18% BB sep1 for $1 each.
yesterday made yogurt with 4 l of milk, and cheese with 1 liter. we have so much cheese its absurd.
we already have 2 jars of yogurt we made from free skim milk few days ago.
made a good salad today with greens-arugla, rocket, beet, spinach, fresh corn, black cherry tomatoes from our garden, small shallot, cara cara juice, olives, fresh cooked romano beans, bay shrimp thawed in cold water, and parmesan. topped with salad dressing: skim yogurt, sesame paste, garlic powder, pinch of cumin, squirt of yuzu jalapeno sauce. salt and pepper.
today went to jags and got beef sirloin, about 1 lb for $5. lamb loin chops for 7, 2 steaks for 7, and 340 g wild pickerel for 6. 4 big poblanos, shallots, cukes, 3 l cream, greens, celery, 4 pretzels, 1 brownie. came to 50 and got discount to 39.50.
We are stocked up for meat for the month and we still have chicken and some ground beef from last month. lasagna is gone. need to make more when its colder, right now its a heat wave. Also need to cook a pumpkin asap as we now have 6 in the house and more inthe garden.

Made barfi with organic cocoa butter which we scored 2 bags 5 bucks each at OG. normally $15. i used 3/4 pkg coconut cream, 1 tbsp butter, 3 tbsp cocoa butter, 1 tbsp coconut oil. added 6 heaping teaspoons of milk powder. Spices: cinnamon, clove, 2-3 tsp cardamom, and vanilla. 1 tbsp organic coconut sugar. I cooked it and it was very thick, so I added 3-4 tbsp organic milk. And added a handful of macadmia butter I made. and rosewater, 3 tbsp.
today metro opened up again and we got a liter of whip cream for 4 bucks. so we made butter. 3 lumps in the freezer, 1 int he butter dish.

Made Pumpkin Pie Royale with our "kikukza" squash. used homemade cheese from organic 10% cream, mixed with homemade cream cheese. Used 4 oz each (1/2 cup) as per recipe but it wasnt enough to cover the pan. So I added couple tbsp homemade yogurt.
The filling I used was 2 cups of squash as per recipe, unblended, and it didnt quite fill to the top of the pie dish. Odd. I used 3/4 cup whipping cream instead of 1 cup because it seemed a bit thin. Added 1 tsp baking powder. And 2 tbsp organic coconut suagr, and 1 extra tsp of cinnamon. The organic cinnamon is really good.
Topped with a 4-egg meringue, spiced with cardamom and vanilla.
Still have almost a cup of squash leftover, plus the other half liter of squash from the small pumpkin, which was not quite as sweet as the big one.

Got the pink and green squash from sweet potato. they have labeled it as black futza. the seeds are definitely maxmima seeds, not moschata. this taste like i would imagine a candy roaster would taste. all the pink squash are maximas, it looks like. we bought the smallest squash and it was 0.826 kg and $2/lb. The other squash had more ribs on them. overall its a hubbard shape, but the taste is not like hubbard. its dense, thick flesh like a kabocha. A very good kabocha. fine grained, dry, sweet.
we made 4 liters of beef stock yesterday from neck bones, and cut about 6 oz of beef from the bones and made soup. its really good.
ate our first cosmic eclipse tomato today, it was late planted, and made a rare double tomato. it was perfectly ripe and we ate it with mozzarella and salad. it was much sweeter and milder than i remember them being last year.
made tomato jam the other day with atomic grape and black cherry. we have so many tomatoes now we're going to make more. next to ripen are banana legs and dark galaxy. used up a few beefsteak black sea mans already.
also got new tomatoes for seed at sweet potato for 5 bucks.

we now have 3 packs of cocoa butter, 1/2 lb each, organic. got them 4.94 each on clearance at OG.
chocolate ideas:
cashew chocolate
rose chocolate
Pacari brand: cococa mass, sugar, cocoa butter, emulsifier ( lecithin 0.2%), rose essence (0.1%). 20 g sugar, 50g bar.
pumpkin chocolate. HU brand ingredients: cacao, sugar, cocoa butter, pumpkin, cinnamon extract(cinnamon, olive oil), salt, allspice extract, nutmeg, ginger, clove. 18 grams sugar. 60g bar. 30% sugar.
milk fudge:
cashew butter layer. nut butter + milk powder + rose water
vanilla cardmom layer. milk powder, coconut cream, milk/butter, rose water, spices, vanilla
Trying to make a creamier milk fudge as last time was thicker and not as sweet due to using more coconut cream than normal (3/4 pack).

Today made chocolate. used 1/4 cup cocoa butter, 1/4 cup coco powder (half red half black). 2 tbsp sugar. split into 2 batches. one plain chocolate, the other flavoured with cinnamon, cardmom, clove, ginger. mostly cinamon. and 1 tbsp of the Winterbush pumpkin sieved.

Idea: pumpkin barfi. pecan pumpkin barfi. pumpkin, milk powder, coconut cream, rose water, spices (cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, cardamom, ginger, vanilla).
