planted over a dozen pots of callas today.a layer of gravel, 1/4 shrimp compost, peat, dirt, perlite.
we have almost a dozen pepper plants. we have 4 tomatoes from the store. we also have pink brandywine and green striped plum.
6 cucumber plants which are going on either side of the deck. they will climb the pillars and look nice.
did a bunch of weeding and cleaning. first clean up of the year. a few months later than usual. the plants are growing huge. all the perennials.
my favourite peppers are the black pearl which we have 3 plants. we have jimmy nardello type. 1 lunchbox. 4 large jalapeno plants. 3 yellow mushroom.
not much planned for the front fence garden bed, but its overcrowded already with succulents and goji. ideally the peppers would go there or a couple tomatoes to get the full sun. i'd say, allt he peppers up front, and 2 tomato plants.
int he former pepper bed i'd put 2 other tomatoes. that's it.
we have a couple pots of onions. for the first time we got a purple allium plant and it flowered last month. it was so pretty.
the fairy ring is empty, might put a banana plant there. we have 1 left. the 2 that overwintered byt he window died, but today i noticed a sprout coming up in the pot, likely a banana baby. dill in the herb barrel came back and its beautiful. been using it for a month now. no parsley came back. we have a few pots of oregano they look good too.
this may be our last year gardening for a while. i didn't plant any flowers. reminder to plant that alyssum seed pack we bought recently at sweet potato.
