Cat food How we fed our cat one can of cat food this monbth. We got a free pack of chicken livers from Quebec. Meant for human consumption. Fancy ones. Like the ones we would exclusively feed KiKi for years. Usually $3-4 per pack, per week. We chopped the livers and cooked them. Froze some raw for later weeks. She absolutely loves it. Also we had a huge salmon skin from when we made gravlax. She is picky about this. She loves canned salmon food. She likes skins sometimes, but only when they are cooked. And cut into small pieces. Well this month she ate a whole 6x6 inch piece. Almost filled a 6 ounce container. We gave her pumpkin soup which she loves. We gave her chicken curry which is also her favourite. I even got her to eat a piece of carrot and some acorn squash. Today we got pork bones. We roast them, then pick off the meat. We got 1 litre. We feed her this and it'll last a week or two. Lots of collagen in the neck bones. Then we boil the bones to make stock for our soups. Kiki will eat only roasted meat, if its boiled first she won't like it. The chicken bones don't have enough meat to do this. A good thing about making keto desserts is that its a guilt free indulgence for little Kiki. I made an almond flour banana bar square. We ate it and the crumbs went to Kiki, who happily the ate the crumbs. I had dusted the pan with coconut flour, which she loves coconut. She also like these coconut cream I used instead of butter. Coconut is healthy, even for cats. So are almonds. Its a source of taurine which cats need.
