Matt's Wild Cherry
Matt's Wild Cherry

The wild tomato with great flavor.
These small, 5 gm. cherry tomatoes are deep red, have a tender, smooth texture, and sweet, full flavor. High sugar content. Though the flavor is superior, it doesn't yield as well as modern varieties, and the fruits are soft. Fantastic in salsa and for fresh eating. Some resistance to early blight and late blight.
Indeterminate.

Matt’s Wild Cherry. Heirloom, Mexican. Tiny, smooth, red very sweet, full of flavor fruits in early season. High sugar content but soft fruits with good yields. Small seeded. Indeterminate. 60 days. Good blight resistance from sprawling plants. seeds-organic

Matt's Wild Cherry Tomato Seed. Originally brought to Maine by Teresa Arellanos de Mena who obtained this heirloom variety from family in Hildago, Mexico where similar varieties grow wild. The small red cherry tomatoes are extremely productive and flavorful. Best of all, they are quite early and disease resistant. A winner of many taste tests! Indeterminate. (55 days from transplant) heritageharvestseed

Small as a currant tomato, these Solanum Lycopersicum are descendants from a wild sample collected in Hidalgo Mexico by Teresa Arellanos de Mena. Unilaterally the best tasting tomato that has passed these lips, ever, hands down. There is notable late blight resistance that is useful in breeding, and this variety has no problem growing in dry clay soils. I literally plant them in the spring and walk away, and they don’t seem to notice that I am not there. The smallest fruit is about 3/4 cm, with the largest over a cm. There is slight variation in foliage pigment and fruit pigment also. No insect damage or splitting of fruit at all. goodmindseeds
