I really enjoy looking at the vintage photos of the CERN Data Centre. Here's a link that lets you walk through the centre (albeit in a modern environment).

Lee Courtney John Wilson I actually feel fortunate that I was able to see and *experience* the mainframe machine room environment at university and in my early career. I love the "battleship" era of computing - sights, sounds, and even the smell.

Richard Sexton I wrote a Postscript printer formatter so you could just send a file to ut and have it printed like an HP.
I got a note from somebody at CERN saying it crashed their Sun, and they included a code fix.
Hell, it worked on my Amiga. I've always been leery of their anti-matter experiments since then.
